Reno is the county seat for Washoe county. Property taxes area assessed by the Washoe county tax assesor and each parcel must be re-assessed at least once every five years. Real property taxes do not change at the time of a transaction unless the parcel is being rezoned or is new construction which has never been assessed. Real Property taxes are calculated as follows:
Taxable Value x .35 = Assessed Value
Assessed Value x Tax Rate = Total Property Tax
